MUM’S BEST BEAUTY ADVICE

Our mothers pass on many pearls of wisdom, and when it comes to beauty they are particularly seasoned. We asked our favourite beauties what advice their mother gave them to keep them looking and feeling fab.

Always drink plenty of water, don't drink too much alcohol, never sleep with make up on, always use the best skincare because it will show in the future, and of course the best skincare is Alpha-H! Now that I'm getting older she has also told me to start using the Liquid Gold to prevent ageing.

My mum's best piece of advice regarding my skin is to always invest in it. She told me to stop wasting my money on handbags and shoes and to put that money towards looking after my skin.  I grew up hearing you can always buy new bags and shoes but you can't go out and buy new skin. And repairing damaged skin can be nearly impossible or super expensive.

My mum is the queen of anti-ageing, some advice that’s always stayed in mind is never wipe your eye makeup off outwards, always wipe from outside inward to avoid stretching the skin under the eyes. Another favourite is to drink your takeaway coffees through a straw, what’s the point in staining your teeth if you don't have to.

The best beauty advice that my mum ever gave me was that a little bit of lippy will always make you feel complete. However, I love teaching my mum the advances of skincare these days. I feel her generation didn't have the knowledge and resources that we do nowadays. She's regularly hearing about my Alpha-H obsession!!

My mother told me to never use soap on my face as it strips the skin of natural oils and essential moisture. Bubbles should be found in champagne not your cleanser; Alpha-H’s formulations remove makeup and impurities without compromising the skin’s pH level.

One of my favourite childhood memories is sitting on my mum’s four-post bed, watching her apply her eye shadow - she has beautiful hazel eyes and perfected the art of accentuating them. She taught me that you should pick your absolute favourite asset and dedicate the majority of your time getting ready to that one thing.
