Michelle – Alpha-H Owner and Director

“I prefer quality over quantity. My job requires a lot of international travel so I often find myself in the makeup section of Duty Free in some exotic location. This is great as I often get to pick up products before they hit the Australian market. My must-have items are a good quality mineral foundation so that my skin is not compromised by harmful chemicals and an eternally flattering lipstick like Clairns Joli Rouge Lipstick in “Brilliant” so that I always look polished and professional for business meetings and dinners. Every woman should also own a dark eye shadow.  Whether it’s mocha brown or the blackest of black, this will take your makeup look from day to night in just a few minutes.”

Michelle's makeup haul includes these staple items:

Tess – PR and Media Manager

“I love experimenting with different makeup trends each season but always come back to these three basics:

1. A flawless, luminescent base achieved with Etude House BB Magic Cream and a light dusting of translucent finishing powder – NARS and Smashbox both do great versions.

2. Well defined, full brows (I prefer to use a brow “powder” then set into place with a spooly brush and spritz of hairspray for a natural yet polished finish)

3. A pop of colour on the lips; I’ve been obsessed with Innoxa’s Matte Lipstick in “Tangerine” since its launch a few years back.

A life changing makeup discovery for me was learning the technique of contouring. Want higher cheek bones? A smaller nose?  Contouring lets you fake these features and is super easy once you get the hang of it. Smashbox’s Step-By-Step Contour Palette is pretty much a “contouring for dummies” guide with instructions and diagrams included - genius!”
