Michelle wrote this letter on the 7th of April 2020 in response to COVID-19 pandemic.
To my Alpha-H community,
What a strange time we have suddenly found ourselves in. Anyone who has ever met me will know, I’m normally a really positive person. But even I have to admit to waking with trepidation lately, wondering what happened around the world while I slept. This new “normal” is certainly taking some adjusting; please find comfort in knowing you are not alone in feeling this way.
In my downtime, I’ve been enjoying knitting for my six darling grandchildren. I’ve also been reading a series of books, The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley which are absolutely intriguing. I hope you are finding the time to indulge in a little self-care as well as enjoying those slower activities that we often find ourselves forgetting about in our busy modern lives.
Keeping in regular contact with our wonderful ingredient suppliers and global brand partners is making me excited about the future, when this will all be a distant memory. From new product launches to exciting opportunities, I know what’s to come will be worth the wait.
Of course, we are trying really hard to help our customers feel as connected as ever before. We’ve allocated our clinic and field teams to provide further support for our live online skin consultations. By amplifying this complimentary service, we hope to continue providing you with the skincare advice you are seeking, and inspire you to use this time to really look after yourself.
I’m also incredibly proud of the amazing effort our team have put in over the past couple of weeks to create our own hand sanitiser. Using bulk ingredients and packaging we had available, it was originally created for the team to use. But we quickly decided we wanted to share the love with our customers. So, while stocks last, we are including it free in online orders for Australian customers (we can’t ship them internationally yet, sorry!), as well as donating bottles to local Gold Coast businesses and care packages to medical facilities.
I cannot help but think there will be many lessons to learn from this. For one, I suspect many of us will develop a new appreciation for the things we have and sometimes take for granted, especially now we’ve learnt just how easy it is for them to suddenly disappear.
