Why is Liquid Gold low pH?
Why it matters
Healthy skin has a naturally acidic surface, often called the acid mantle, which helps support the skin barrier and keep moisture in. Products formulated within this natural pH range work in harmony with your skin, delivering results while helping to maintain balance.
FORMULATED AT OPTIMAL PH
Liquid Gold is formulated at a low pH of approximately 2.8-3.0. Most competitor products hover around the 3.0-4.0 mark. The lower the pH the more active the glycolic acid, and therefore, the more effective it is at penetrating the (outer layers of the) skin to perform at its peak exfoliating potential.
This pH range allows Glycolic Acid to remain in its most effective form, helping it exfoliate the skin's surface, improve texture, and reveal brighter, smoother skin.
It's not all about percentage
Two products can contain the same % of Glycolic Acid, but that doesn't mean they will perform the same. The pH of the formula determines how much of the Glycolic Acid stays in its active, skin-penetrating form, making the formula more effective/
