I’ve been a beauty editor for seven years.
In that time, I’ve tried a lot of cleansing balms and cleansing oils.
Promise, this isn’t a humble brag.
Rather, necessary context to preface the following statement:
Turns out, I wasn’t the only one obsessed with it.
The Alpha-H cleansing balm went viral on TikTok for its ability to get rid of even the most stubborn (and hectic) makeup.
So popular was this cleansing balm, it sold out three times in a matter of weeks.
Literally, they could not make this balm cleanser fast enough to keep it in stock.
Hence, you can imagine how excited I was when a sample of the brand’s new limited edition cleansing balm landed on my desk.
With a juicy new look, scent and hero ingredient, is the Alpha-H Plum Cleansing Balm as good as the best-selling original?

But the most important thing to know?
We’ve only made one small batch of this limited edition balm cleanser, so when it’s gone, it’s gone!
My Alpha-H Cleansing Balm Review.
My favourite way to use this plum Alpha-H cleansing balm is applied to dry skin.
After massaging in upwards circular motions for 30-60 seconds, dampen your hands and continue massaging as the oil texture emulsifies into a milk.
Rinse, then follow with a water-based second cleanser.
That’s all lovely, but is the plum cleansing balm worth snapping up, you ask?
Hear me out, but I might like it even more than the original.
Firstly, the texture of this cleansing balm makes me feel things.
When you open the good-looking deep pink tub, you're met with a perfectly smooth layer of what looks like plum sorbet.
You'd think the balm would have a hard, waxy consistency from looking at it, but no.
Dip your mini spatula (or your fingers, let's be realistic) into the balm cleanser and you'll find it's silky and buttery, nourishing yet delicate, thick and light, all at the same time.
Price-wise, you’re getting a good deal because the 90g tub will last you at least a few months.
Maybe even longer if you're a once-a-week makeup wearer like me.
I find less than a grape-sized amount of balm is plenty to quite literally melt and lift makeup and sunscreen off the skin.
Those sensitive to fragrance might find the mouthwateringly juicy, sweet scent a bit much, but I’m into it.
No funny taste or eye stinging, either.
This means you can really get in there and gently work with the product to break down full coverage foundation, long-wear lip products, glittery eyeshadows and stubborn mascaras.
The limited edition plum cleansing balm leaves my skin feeling just as clean, soft and luminous as the original Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm.
Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm Plum has all the benefits the best-selling original is famous for.
Effectively removes makeup, sunscreen, oil and grime? Tick.
Feels like an indulgent silky face massage while using it? Tick.
Makes my skin look bouncy, plump, smooth and radiant?
But really, this cleansing balm had me at the stunning plum scent and packaging.
You’ll probably want to buy this ASAP, because it will 100 per cent sell out.
